SPIE Acquires PIK AG: Strengthening Audiovisual Expertise in Germany | Business Expansion News (2025)

Big news for the audiovisual world! SPIE, a leading European player in multi-technical services, has just announced a deal to acquire a significant stake in PIK AG, a move that promises to shake up the German market. This acquisition isn't just about expanding a business; it's about bolstering expertise and capabilities in a rapidly evolving field.

Published on November 11, 2025, the official announcement came from Cergy on November 12th, 2025. SPIE is set to acquire 89% of PIK AG. But what does this mean for both companies and the industry at large?

PIK AG, based in Berlin, is a specialist in integrating and maintaining complex audiovisual systems. They're the go-to team for conference rooms, lecture halls, and concert halls, offering everything from planning and project management to installation and maintenance. They serve clients across various sectors, including critical infrastructure. With approximately 170 employees, PIK has made a name for itself in northern and eastern Germany.

In the 2024 financial year, PIK generated around €42 million in revenue, demonstrating consistent organic growth and a solid customer base. This success story is a testament to the leadership of Niklas Niehuus, who took over PIK in 2018 and has since steered the company to new heights. Niehuus expressed his excitement about the next chapter, stating his confidence in SPIE as the right partner for PIK's future.

The existing management team, including Christoph Wegner (CEO), Christian Hieckel (CFO), Daniel Gallin (CSO), and André Rechenberg (CTO), will continue to lead PIK's development within SPIE. They are eager to contribute their experience and enthusiasm to further grow the business.

Marcus Hänsel, from SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition, highlighting the strengthened position in the audiovisual systems market. Markus Holzke, Managing Director/CEO of SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria, added that PIK brings a strong team with high technical expertise, well-filled project pipelines, and growing demand in critical infrastructure areas.

The deal structure involves SPIE acquiring 89% of PIK AG, with the remaining 11% held by the previous owner and the management team. The agreement includes put and call mechanisms related to these 11%. The transaction is expected to be finalized in December, pending approval from antitrust authorities.

But here's where it gets interesting... This acquisition could spark a lot of conversations about the future of audiovisual technology in Germany.
